When TracerCode CEO Bill Fleming brought actors and rock stars to the
National, folks weren't sure how it would turn out. I can honestly say
that it turned out great. Rather than gloss over my experiences, I
thought I would highlight a particular entertainer in each article. The
first that I would like to cover is Alana Curry. She can currently be
seen in "Terminator 3", not too shabby.
Alana is a California girl through and through. She makes the most of
her car and her career. She started out as a dancer, that's tap and
ballet, not what you were thinking! You can see that helped keep her
physically fit and able to deal with the rigors of an acting career--her
first love.
My first impression of her is the same as my last, a truly positive
experience. As we got ready to interview her in front of the fans that
were standing around our table, I could tell that we might have a great
two-way conversation, well three-way if you count fellow Ologist Dean
Warr, but I tried to forget he was there. She made us feel at ease and
that there was no particular question that was "off limits". There's
nothing worse than interviewing a person that is unwilling to be open
and honest. If you hear one-word answers it gets very boring very
quickly. When that occurs you have a long 3-5 minutes on your hands.
Alana gave us twenty-five minutes of her time if that gives you some
perspective.
Alana gave us a true in-depth interview that covered her whole career.
She has appeared on such TV shows as CBS' "Robbery Homicide Division"
with Tom Sizemore, "The Bold & the Beautiful", "Beverly Hills
90210",
and "Nick Freno: Licensed Teacher". Her film credits include "Terminator
3: Rise of the Machines", and "Time Changer", as
well as a string of independent films including "Is This Seat Taken"
and
"Changing Fates" which will be released at major film festivals
worldwide and then to DVD/video release.
Alana is a very down-to-earth person that brought us into the life of an
entertainer, and that was very interesting. She has a great sense of
humor and things were going great until she revealed that she didn't
understand the game of football. I was horrified, and both Dean and
myself offered to school her. Lets hope her fiancée takes the lead
and
teachers her the basics. If he doesn't you can be sure that
Footballology will have a weekly column devoted to teaching women about
the game!
Too bad Alana was on a non-ABC soap since I am hooked on them, and have
been for years! She was very complimentary to her soap actors that
sometimes take some criticism. Once again she brought us into the inner
workings of soap operas and taught us a few things. Fans loved talking
to Alana and getting her lip print!
Alana was open about her embarrassing moments in life like, nope I'm not
going to tell you, listen to Card Corner on Sportsology and find out.
Dean and I never asked her if she had any pets and it turns out that she
is a cat person! I have one and three greyhounds, oh well; maybe we can
talk about that next time!
